Happy Thanksgiving- The Science of Gratitude

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! In my web surfing, or whatever the kids call it these days, I ran across this article by Dr. Robert Emmons, a professor of Psychology at UC Davis. He has recently published a book entitled, "Thanks: How the New Science of Gratitude Can Make You Happier"

What an awesome article, book, and idea. The Bible is full of commands to give thanks to the Lord. In fact, "thanks", "thankful", "thanksgiving", "gratitude" and "grateful" appear 120 times in the Bible.

Psalm 136 is typical: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever."

Philippians 1:3 states, "I thank my God every time I remember you."

Philippians 4:6 states: " Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
